Only by invitation for new accounts: Stripe says businesses in India cannot sign up through its website and must request access, with priority for those expanding internationally. Many Indian companies use Stripe through a US or UK entity, or use Razorpay for domestic payments.
Should we use Stripe Checkout or the Payment Element?
Checkout is a Stripe-hosted or embedded page that is fastest to launch and maintained by Stripe. The Payment Element fits inside your own checkout page for more control over layout, at the cost of more front-end work.
Will Stripe API updates break our integration?
Not unexpectedly. Your requests and webhooks are pinned to an API version, and monthly releases within a named release are backward-compatible. Moving to a new major release is a planned upgrade that we test before switching.
