Firebase is Google's platform of managed backend services: Firestore and Realtime Database, Authentication, Cloud Functions, Hosting, Cloud Messaging and Crashlytics. You get a working backend without running servers, which suits mobile apps and small teams.
A good Firebase developer designs the data model and security rules carefully from day one. Mistakes there show up later as data leaks or surprise bills. If your data is highly relational or you need to avoid vendor lock-in, a Postgres-based stack may suit you better.
What We Build With It
- Model data in Cloud Firestore and write security rules
- Set up Firebase Authentication with email, phone, Google and Apple sign-in
- Write Cloud Functions for triggers, payments and scheduled jobs
- Send push notifications with Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Add Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config and A/B testing
- Use SQL Connect when the app needs a relational PostgreSQL database
Where It Fits Best
- Mobile apps built with Flutter, Android or iOS
- Chat, live feeds and collaborative features
- MVPs that need login, a database and hosting quickly
- Push notification and engagement campaigns
- Crash reporting and feature flags for existing apps

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Firebase Studio shutdown affect our app?
No. Google is closing Firebase Studio, the browser-based coding workspace, but says core products such as Firestore, Authentication and App Hosting are not affected. Apps already deployed to Firebase keep running.
Firebase or Supabase?
Firebase is stronger for mobile-first apps that need offline sync, push notifications and crash reporting. Supabase suits apps with relational data and SQL reporting, or teams that want an open-source Postgres stack they can move. We can advise once we see your data model.
