Our store runs Magento 2.4.6. Do we need to upgrade?
Yes, plan it now. Adobe's standard support for 2.4.6 ended in August 2026, and Adobe Commerce extended support runs to August 2027. Moving to 2.4.8 or 2.4.9 keeps you on releases that still get security fixes.
Is Magento a good choice for a small shop?
Usually not. Magento needs stronger hosting and specialist developers, which is costly for a small catalogue. Shopify or WooCommerce is normally a better fit until your catalogue, pricing rules or integrations become complex.
