We are still on .NET 8. Do we need to upgrade?
Yes, soon. Microsoft ends support for .NET 8 and .NET 9 on 10 November 2026, after which they get no security fixes. .NET 10 is the current long-term support release and is the sensible target.
Can you move our old .NET Framework application to modern .NET?
Usually, yes, but it depends on what it uses. Web APIs and class libraries tend to move well, while Web Forms and WCF need rewriting or replacing. A developer should audit the code first and give you a staged plan.
