Ionic
Ionic developers who turn Angular, React or Vue code into installable iOS and Android apps using Ionic Framework and Capacitor, and who will tell you when a native build is the better call.
Ionic Framework provides mobile-style UI components for web apps, and Capacitor wraps that web app in a native shell so it can ship on the App Store and Google Play with access to the camera, files, push notifications and other device features. Your team keeps writing Angular, React or Vue, and the same code can also run as a progressive web app.
Ionic makes most sense when you already have web developers or a web app and need a mobile version without a separate native team. It is the wrong choice for graphics-heavy games or apps that live and die on native feel, and our developers will say so up front. Work is available by the project, by the hour from $10/hr, or monthly.
What We Build With It
- Build mobile screens with Ionic components in Angular, React or Vue
- Package the web app for iOS and Android with Capacitor and manage the native Xcode and Android Studio projects
- Use Capacitor plugins for camera, geolocation, push notifications, file storage and biometrics, and write a custom plugin when none exists
- Turn an existing web app or admin panel into an installable mobile app
- Upgrade older Cordova or Capacitor projects to current Ionic and Capacitor releases
- Tune list rendering, bundle size and start-up time so the web view feels responsive on mid-range phones
Where It Fits Best
- Internal business apps such as field forms, approvals and stock checks
- Customer portals and booking apps that already exist as a web app
- Event, membership and loyalty apps with modest native feature needs
- Minimum viable products that must reach iOS, Android and the web from one team
- Replacements for ageing Cordova apps

Frequently Asked Questions
When is Ionic the wrong choice?
Avoid it for games, apps with heavy animation or real-time graphics, and products whose selling point is a highly polished native feel. In those cases native Swift and Kotlin, or Flutter, will serve you better even though they cost more to build.
What is the difference between Ionic and Capacitor?
Ionic Framework is the set of UI components that make a web app look and behave like a mobile app. Capacitor is the native runtime that packages the app for iOS and Android and connects it to device features, and it can be used with or without Ionic's components.
Can you turn our existing web app into a mobile app?
Often, yes. If the web app is built in a modern framework and already works well on a phone screen, Capacitor can package it with far less work than a rebuild. We check navigation, offline behaviour and app store rules first, because a straight wrapper of a website is likely to be rejected.
How does Ionic compare with React Native?
React Native draws real native UI components, while Ionic renders web UI inside a native container. React Native usually feels closer to native, whereas Ionic reuses more of your existing web code and CSS and can also ship as a website.
